About KCAD
Kid C.A.T. After Dark (KCAD) is a new program designed to foster healing, connection, and emotional growth through theater, improvisation, and creative writing. By engaging participants in the art of storytelling and performance, KCAD creates a powerful space for self-expression, emotional exploration, and meaningful dialogue. Through this creative process, individuals build confidence, deepen their emotional intelligence, and develop vital communication skills—all of which are essential for healthy relationships and personal transformation.
More than just a creative outlet, KCAD serves as a sanctuary for those navigating mental health challenges within the incarcerated community. It offers a space where vulnerability is welcomed, voices are uplifted, and participants can feel seen, safe, and included. In a system that can often feel isolating, KCAD builds bridges—between self and others, between past and possibility—using the power of art to inspire healing, growth, and community.
